LiechtensteinX was a small, foldable pavilion representing Liechtenstein at the Venice Art Biennale 2022. Measuring 90 × 90 × 90 cm, the transportable structure carried 28 miniature artworks, bringing the wide artistic spectrum of Visarte Liechtenstein to Venice.
Designed as a growing project, the pavilion questions whether artistic impact is tied to scale. When unfolded performatively, the compact cube transforms into a spatial landscape in which the diversity of artistic practices from Liechtenstein becomes visible. Conceived as an open and inviting gesture, the pavilion fostered dialogue with other national pavilions, artist groups, and the public in the streets and squares of Venice.
The then President of Switzerland, Alain Berset, and Liechtenstein minister of culture, Manuel Frick, visited the pavilion located at Hotel Bauer under the guidance of Lilian Hasler, an artist and the president of Visarte Liechtenstein.
